German airports and their industry met at the famous Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin for the first “GATE FUTURE" – the innovation forum in cooperation with the ADV.
Our cooperation partner ADV is the association of the German airports and is committed to competitive air transport and modern, high-performance airports in Germany.
GATE President Dieter A. Heinz and Vice-President Kay Bärenfänger welcomed the exalted speakers. Ralph Beisel, CEO of ADV, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Norbert Barthle, as well as Chairman of the Board of Management of the airport Cologne/Bonn and future President of ADV, Michael Garvens, spoke in their speeches about the indispensability of innovations for the benefit of the whole industry.
Mr. Garvens talked in his key note about the enormous speed in the air and the time lost on the ground. He encouraged to a strong and courageous cooperation between airports and suppliers to exploit innovations that already exist today.
The strengthening of the airport sector is also an important goal for Norbert Barthle. He announced the completion of the air transport concept for this year. Ralph Beisel accentuate in his welcome speech that this event was only the beginning of a promising collaboration between ADV and GATE.
In five workshops more than 100 participants discussed several future topics for example innovation, sustainability, digitization and IT security. There were many interesting discussions about the future of the air traffic position in Germany.
